Welcome to Whitley & Monkseaton Bowling Club.
Our greens and pavilions are opposite Monkseaton Metro Station and are bounded by Marine Avenue, and Norham Road, Whitley Bay.

North Tyneside Council own and maintain our greens, which are open from
April to September each year.
We play in several leagues each week involving both mixed and single sex games. This together with numerous club competitions keeps us busy. Members don't have to play in the leagues or competitions, but we are pleased when they do.
Join as a social member and play in the jumbles (green fees apply) or receive freecoaching
On the social side we have tea and biscuits each day, and have an annual dinner, and cream teas during the year as well as an annual charity day in aid of a local charity.
We actively seek new members and whether you're young or old, lady or gent, experienced or beginner, we will welcome you.

2026 County Competitions Entry Forms are now on the notice boards
Deadlines for submission to The County are October 31st 2025 for the men and January 9th 2026 for the women.
Let the secretaries know before then, please.
Whitley & Monkseaton Bowling Club Green Maintenance
Unfortunately, this season is coming to a close soon .The hard work of maintaining the green has to continue. So we are already planning to start preparing the green to face the extreme weather conditions throughout winter until next season.
Therefore, we are appealing for volunteers to come down and assist us in carrying out the various tasks that needs to be done. Note :- The exact date and time will be announced on this site in due course.
NB :- You will be provided with refreshments, i.e. tea, coffee, biscuits etc..
Some of the tasks on the list are :-Painting the edging boards with a wood preserver, Cleaning, weeding the trenches
( gutters ) around the green, Covering the trenches with a plastic membrane preventing leaves accumulation
And many others.
You can send your nomination on the WAM bowling app or just turn up day/ date.

Panko breaded homemade black pudding scotch egg served with HP brown sauce
3 - Salmon & Dill Fishcake
Pan fried homemade salmon & dill fishcake served with homemade tartare sauce
4 - Prawn Cocktail
Prawns smothered in homemade Marie Rose sauce served on a bed of iceberg lettuce and a side of bread and butter
MAIN EVENT
5 - Chicken Breast
Pan fried skin on chicken breast served with creamy mash potato, seasonal vegetables drizzled with our homemade white wine sauce
6 - Homemade Chicken Kiev
Panko chicken breast smothered with homemade garlic butter served with homemade twice cooked chips and side salad
7 - Fish of the Day
Pan fried fish served on a bed of crushed potatoes, selection of seasonal vegetables topped with homemade parsley sauce
8 - Mushroom & Stilton Wellington
Served with creamy mash potato, seasonal vegetables and thick vegetable gravy
DESSERTS
9 - Homemade Sticky Toffee Pudding
Served with the choice of ice cream or custard
10 - Homemade Apple Crumble
Served with the choice of ice cream or custard
11 - Cheesecake
Served with the choice of ice cream or fresh cream
12 - Trio of Ice Cream
Selection of Vanilla, Strawberry and Chocolate Ice Cream

FEES FOR 2025
The club committee have set the fees for this year at £80.00 per member and £10.00 per social member.
The green fees for social members who wish to have a roll up remain at £3.00
Social members are warmly invited to attend the meeting and we would be pleased to see you at the church hall at any time you feel able to attend. Forms have been emailed to last seasons members.
If you have not received one, there will be spare league & subscription forms at the meeting.
